Foot Reflexology : 7 Pressure Points To Reduce Stress & Boost Metabolism

Our thoughts and visualizations affect the world around us, but they have the greatest effect on our bodies.
Our imagination is the most effective when we’re relaxed, and it is recommended to visualize the best version of ourselves in the morning after waking up and then again before we fall asleep at night. And, of course, after sessions of yoga, meditation, massage or reflexology, when we feel very relaxed.
Reflexology soothes us into a state of deep rest and relaxation, where we’re open to the suggestions we give ourselves — much like in hypnosis. It puts us in a receptive place where we allow our heart’s desires to manifest.foot massage techniques to remove stress and pressure
Our brains work like computers – we have the ability to program and delete anything about ourselves or our lives that we want to.
Reflexology quietly affects the organs, glands, and each part of the body by stimulating reflex areas/points on the feet, hands, face and ears.
There areas of our bodies have thousands of nerves — 15,000 nerves in our feet alone! This is why reflexology has such calming and soothing effects.
Many people seek comfort by overindulging, which ultimately results in a negative impact on our well-being, and reflexology can be a wonderful, nourishing replacement for harmful self-indulgences. We often overeat as a reaction to tension and stress.
Anytime we pamper ourselves with any form of relaxation, it leaves us feeling nurtured, loved, grounded and with a much better feeling about who we truly are. And reflexology can also help us shed some excess pounds and make better lifestyle choices. By stimulating the areas on the foot indicated in this chart we will have a direct correlation to the glands, organs and nervous system, which help us feeling and looking our best.
Use your thumb or index finger to press each of the following areas indicated above for five seconds.

Note: this chart represents the sole of the left foot.
  • The outside of the big toe (the hypothalamusarea of your brain) controls appetite and thirst.
    • The center of the big toe (the pituitaryor “master gland”) stimulates and balances hormonal secretions of all other glands.
    • The bottom of the big toe (the thyroid) regulates the metabolism.
    • The solar plexus/diaphragm (under ball of foot) reduces stress.
    • The under ball of the foot (the adrenal glands) helps to maintain energy levels to burn off calories.
    • Stimulating the urinary system will help you release water retention.
    • The near bottom of the foot at center sole (the colon and intestines of the digestive system) are stimulated to promote elimination and relieve bloating.
Practicing reflexology will help you discover your best self, one foot at a time.
